Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Shadow Towers game, this website and the related online services (together, the "Service"), operated by the operator identified at the bottom of this page and in the site footer ("we", "us").

By creating an account, playing the game or buying anything through the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Shadow Towers is an action game for Windows with optional online features: an account, a balance of Shadows kept on our servers and, later, progress linked to your account.

The game is in development. Features, content and availability may change, and we may update, suspend or discontinue parts of the Service. When a change materially affects something you paid for, we will tell you in advance where reasonably possible.

You only need an account for the online features. Give accurate information, keep your password secret and tell us if you think someone else is using your account; you are responsible for what happens in it.

You must be old enough to accept these terms where you live, or have the permission of a parent or guardian, who then accepts them on your behalf. Accounts are personal: they may not be sold, shared or transferred.

• Shadows are a virtual currency for use inside the Service only. Buying Shadows gives you a limited, personal licence to use them in the game; they are not money or property.
• Shadows have no cash value. They cannot be exchanged for money, sold, transferred to another account or redeemed outside the game, except where the law requires a refund.
• Your balance is determined solely by our servers. The game never creates Shadows on its own; the balance shown in the game or on this site is a copy of our server record.
• We may correct a balance that results from an error, a bug, fraud or a chargeback.
• If we ever shut the Service down for good, we will announce it in advance and explain what happens to unused paid Shadows, in line with applicable law.

The Store lists what can be bought and its price before checkout. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers under their own terms; we do not receive or store your full card details.

A purchase is complete when the payment provider confirms it; the Shadows are then credited to your account. Prices may change, but a change never affects a purchase that was already confirmed. Taxes are charged as required by the law of the place where you live.

Refunds, cancellations and the right of withdrawal are described in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.

When you use the Service, you agree not to:

• cheat, exploit bugs or use bots or automation against the online services;
• tamper with the game client, its network traffic or our servers to change balances, purchases or progress;
• buy, sell or trade accounts or Shadows outside the Service;
• harass other people, including our support staff;
• use the Service for anything unlawful, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.

The game, its content and this website belong to us or to our licensors. Third-party assets are used under the licences listed on the Credits page.

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own non-commercial entertainment.

You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account through the support page.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after a warning where appropriate. If an account is closed for a serious breach such as fraud or cheating, its unused Shadows may be lost, unless the law says otherwise. If we close your account without such a reason, we refund the unused Shadows you paid for.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", especially while the game is in development. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of progress or in-game items caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.

These terms are governed by the law of the place where the operator is established. This never takes away the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country where you live — in Brazil, for example, the Consumer Defence Code (Código de Defesa do Consumidor).

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and material changes are announced on this site or in the game before they apply. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the new terms.
